Welcome to the Ethnic Studies programEthnic Studies is the interdisciplinary study of the major historical and contemporary political, economic, and social events that have shaped the experiences of ethnic and racial groups in the United States. The goals of the minor are to enable students to understand historical and contemporary events as they relate to social inequality; explore how race, class and gender inequality have fostered divisions in the U.S.; use critical thinking to explore these issues; enhance the oral and written expression of critical ideas; and to prepare students to be productive citizens in a diverse society. For a brief introduction about Ethnic studies program, please click hereThe Ethnic Studies Program Committee draws from faculty, staff, and students from the School of Education, the College of Arts and Letters, the College of Natural Sciences, the School of Business, as well as the College of Social and Behavior Sciences.
